WELCOME TO MY CLOSET: ANOUK BEATLE BOOT

It's been a rough couple of weeks and a lot of changes are happening. Two of my best friends are leaving New York this week, one for good, summer is here and I am not bikini ready, and I am overwhelmed with interviewing and that whole I don't have a job issue. I have to admit that although I can stress out and drama it up a bit, I am very good at finding solutions to my problems. Which lead me to here: Barneys. I told the man who allowed me to try on the Alexander Wang Anouk Beatle Boot that the second I stepped in that subway, I knew I was in trouble. Trouble, heaven, whatever you want to call it, the boots ended up coming home with me. It's been quite some time since I have bought full priced shoes, which proves just how disappointed I would have been had they not become the latest addition to my closet. So there ya go. I got the shoes, and although they did not 'solve' my problem, I can now put my best foot forward (yup, I went there..) and begin this new stage of my life.

I WAS TOUCHED BY TERRY

I couldn't agree with Tavi more and I think it is so courageous of such a young girl to be so vocal and risk her career when it comes to such an important figure in both fashion and art. I am a fan of some of Terry Richardson photographs and although I do find the recent allegations to be quite disturbing, this t-shirt is absolutely hysterical. It's not funny because of what it says, it's funny because he couldn't look more like a creepy pedophile. The t-shirt was created by t-shirt designer and art director, Christopher Lee Sauve. Below are some examples of his amazing fashion inspired works.

STAR WARS COOKIE CUTTERS

Seeing as though more than half of my followers are guys (Hey Uncle Ed!), I should probably start posting about things that interest them...you know, things that don't involve sequins or 5 inch heels. So here it is fellas: Williams Sonoma has released an exclusive collection of Star Wars cookie cutters! With picture perfect stamps of Darth Vader, Yoda, Boba Fett and even the much loved Storm Trooper, you can impress all of your two friends at your next SW screening in your mother's basement! Horray!

P.S. READ THE REVIEWS ON THE WILLIAM SONOMA WEBSITE. MY FAVORITE IS THE ONE WOMAN WHO RATED IT A 4 OUT OF 5 BECAUSE HER STORM TROOPERS LOOKED MORE LIKE KITTENS.

DON'T CALL MY NAME DON'T CALL MY NAME, ALEJANDRO WANG...

Alejandro Wang has done it again. His newest pair of swoon worthy boots have just got up on OAK's website and I can feel them calling to me. I can also feel them calling out, "how on earth are you ever going to afford me?" I posted a picture of these booties a few weeks ago when his Fall 2010 Look Book was released, but you couldn't see any of the incredible details that you can see here. The silver plated cut out heel and the skinny chain trim along the sides turn an otherwise ordinary boot into a work of art.

If any of you are interested in purchasing one my arms or legs, they are officially for sale.

(P.S. I'M A SIZE 7)

LARA STONE GETS MARRIED

This past weekend my favorite Dutch model, Lara Stone, got married to Little Britain comedian David Walliams. Stone has become synonymous with the term "curvy model" and has successfully brought some voluptuousness back to the runways. Her wedding day was no different. Stone flaunted her flawless figure down a different kind of runway in a £30,000 (that's euros people) custom made Givenchy wedding gown. After the ceremony she changed into a gold embellished Givenchy mini dress which was slightly reminiscent of Balenciaga's Spring 2007 metal leggings, but in full body form (think C-3PO...but sexier).

GREYSON CHANCE

It has taken me weeks to catch up on all of the Ellen Show's that I had missed while I was in Europe. Because of this, I am just learning about the incredible sensation that is Greyson Chance. Sixteen million hits on youtube and counting, Chance is only twelve years old and has never taken a singing lesson before. I would say more, but this video pretty much covers it..

Oh, and he just signed a deal with Interscope Records.

JACK AND CHERYL GO TO EUROPE: PART 1: PARIS

It's been twelve days since I touched down at JFK, but the feeling of being in Europe hasn't left me quite yet. Memories of narrow streets, gothic architecture, fresh produce and Italian men float in and out of my head and cause me to long for a place that I barely even know. From the moment I arrived in Paris I knew why my parents never encouraged me to travel abroad. Had I gone here when I was 19 years old, I probably never would have returned.

As some of you may know, this was my first trip to Europe and only my third trip out of the United States. A few months before I lost my job, my mom and I had planned a ten day trip to Paris, Florence and Rome. What started out as a low key, quick trip to Europe soon became something completely different- it became a quest for freedom. Freedom from our lives at home, freedom from what we've held as true, and freedom from ourselves. This trip not only brought out an entirely different side of who each of us is separately, but who we are when we're together.

FIRST STOP: PARIS!

The first day I woke up in Paris felt like I was waking up in someone else's bed, in someone else's life. We stayed at the Castille, a beautiful boutique hotel located in the 1st arrondissment conveniently next to the main Chanel store (multiple stories. multiple knees buckling) and the Jardin de Tulleries. Every morning we had a breakfast that would have made even Marie Antoinette blush, the homemade jams and 'scrumbled' eggs still haunting my dreams. Every day was an adventure to see something I have seen a million times before, but in the flesh, everything looked entirely different. We hit up all the usual suspects- The Louvre, Notre Dame, Arc de Triomphe and, of course, the Eiffel Tower. To call the Eiffel Tower "Paris' Empire State Building", is kind of an insult, but that's exactly how it felt. Here is an image you've seen over and over again throughout your life, but when you see it in person it is just so exceptional. You walk down random streets and just when you think you've gotten used to it and the image has diminished, it reveals itself from an entirely different angle.

Inbetween our visits to museums and landmarks, we ate some incredible food and did a lot of shopping. Being that I'm a vegetarian, I consumed an inappropriate amount of eggs, cheese, and bread. In related news, I think I went through 4 rolls of TUMS during our four days in Paris. You may think that I'm complaining, but no one forced me to eat a wheel of brie every morning, or at lunch and dinner for that matter. The best things I ate were: the french onion soup at Cafe de Flore, the hot chocolate at Angelina, and the tomato & ricotta crepe at the little cafe on our street.

As for shopping, I bought most of my goodies in Paris. One of our first stops was at Galeries Lafayette where I discovered an amazing brand called By Zoe. Unfortunately, you cannot buy the brand online so I made sure to stock up on a bunch of key items to hold me over until my next trip. I continued to do damage at Zapa and Sonia Rykiel and the polished off my debt with a little trip to my favorite lingerie store, Fifi Chachnil.

Overall, Paris was a breathtaking experience. As cheesy as it sounds, from the architecture, to the clothes and the people, it was all I ever hoped it would be. Here are some of my favorite pics from the first stop on our trip:
